New Action (Creating a New Task)

The |New Action| button can be used to create a new task, appointment, or all day event for specific contacts within the current search result or the entire search result. 

Creating a New Task

To create a new task, do the following:

  1. Search for a contact or list of contacts within the Accelerator application. 


     
  2. From the Personal Dashboard Button Bar select the |New Action| button. You may select to associate this task with a contact or group of contacts (the new task does not have to be associated with a specific contact).  In this example we will associate a new task with the selected contact.  Check the |Selected Contact Only| option and click the |Task| button.


     
  3. Enter the appropriate information into the New Task dialogue box (shown below), click the |Save| button to save your settings.  The action data is saved in the Accelerator Calendar, and can be viewed and edited in both the phone book via the Action Tab on the Personal Dashboard and the calendar application.


     
      


The |Is Private| option is used to override Accelerator users who have been given rights to view all Action data.  By default, your Action data is accessible only by you and people you have selected to be proxy to you.
 

  1. To view your new task entry, click the |Actions Tab| located in the Personal Dashboard.  Here you can view or edit the actions for your contact.  You can also view the actions of your proxies (people you share contact data with) by clicking on any user that appears under |Other User Action Items| section.
