Import Calendar

Before You Begin

You will need the following items before importing calendar data to Office Accelerator:


Importing Office Accelerator Legacy Calendars (Versions 2 - 9)

  1. From the Office Accelerator phone book, select |Tools|Import Calendar|.


     
  2. Browse to the directory containing the legacy calendar, highlight it and click |OK| to open it. 


     
  3. Use the staging calendar to import new calendar information, view an existing legacy calendar and obtain statistics on the number of events within a calendar. 


     
  4. Once you have opened the legacy calendar for viewing, you can use the staging calendar to view the existing data.  From the file menu, you can select |File|Event Count| which will provide statistics on data within the calendar. 
     
  5. To import the calendar to the master Office Accelerator database, click the |Send Calendar to Online Account| button.


     
  6. Now click |Calendar|.


     
  7. Login to your Account


     
  8. Use the print wizard to import the calendar data to your Office Accelerator database.  Click the |Next| button to continue.


     
  9. Select the calendar owner and click |Next|.


     
  10. Select the category options and click |Next|.


     
  11. Select how to import tasks, typically 'Non-Rolling' and 'Not Done' tasks should be imported as 'All Day Events'.  Click |Next|.
     

     
  12. Click the |Import Now| button to begin importing your data. 


     

Import Non-Proprietary Calendar Files

You can import non-proprietary calendar file formats such as tab separated (.tab) files to Office Accelerator as follows:
 

  1. From the Office Accelerator phone book select |Tools|Import Calendar|.
     
  2. Create a new empty Accelerator Staging Calendar in c:\temp by selecting |File|New| and entering a name for the empty staging calendar.


     
  3.  From the Accelerator Staging Calendar select |File|Import| and locate your tab separated calendar file and click |OK|.


     
  4. On the left side of the screen, change the Data Format to match the file type you are importing. Click the |Update Fields in File| button.  Now map the Office Accelerator fields (under available options) to the 'Fields in Your File' by clicking the |Insert Before| button. 


     
  5. Click |OK| to import the data to the staging utility. 
     
  6. Use the 'Office Accelerator Calendar Staging Utility' to view the calendar data prior to import.  Doing so ensures that     all data is in the correct fields prior to import to your master Office Accelerator database.  To import the calendar from the Staging Utility to the Office Accelerator Master Database, click the |Send Calendar to Online Account| button. 


     
  7. Now click calendar.


     
  8. Login to your Account


     
  9. Click the |Next| button to continue.


     
  10. Select the calendar owner and click |Next|.


     
  11. Select the appropriate category import options and click |Next|.


     
  12. Select how to import tasks, typically 'Non-Rolling' and 'Not Done' tasks should be imported as 'All Day Events'.  Click |Next|.


     
  13. Click |Import Now| to complete the import.
