Office Accelerator BlackBerry Synchronization Setup Instructions

Before beginning, you must have a functioning BlackBerry with an activated "Data Plan" from your mobile carrier.
You must have an Office Accelerator Web Based Account.
Make sure you are running the latest version of Office Accelerator. You can locate your version by selecting |Help|About| from the Office Accelerator phone book. To download and install the latest release, from the phone book select |Help|Automatically Download Updates| or download and install the latest release using the link below:

Open the Accelerator phone book. The BlackBerry sync will by default synchronize to your Accelerator 'My Phone Book' folder, however you can configure it to synchronize to other Office Accelerator folders. If you have not already done so, you will need to add your Office Accelerator contacts to the folder you will be syncing to your BlackBerry.

How to Force all New Contacts to Your 'My Phone Book' Folder
From the Office Accelerator phone book Synchronize menu, select |BlackBerry - Sync Options|, the following dialogue box will appear.
From the Blackberry Sync Options screen do the following:

Setup Contact Syncing

Place a Check in the |Enable Contact Sync| box.
Select the folder you wish to sync to your BlackBerry, it is recommended that you select the 'My Phone Book' folder. The folder you choose to sync with should contain the Office Accelerator contacts you would like to include on your BlackBerry.
Choose which notes to sync to your BlackBerry. Public Notes are those that are available to other users in a networked environment, and Private Notes are accessible only by your login. Private Notes cannot be shared with other users.

Setup Calendar and To-do Syncing

Check the |Enable Calendar Appointment Sync| box if you wish to sync the Accelerator calendar appointments to your Blackberry.
Check the |Enabled Calendar Task Sync| box if you wish to sync the Accelerator calendar tasks to your Blackberry.
Select the Accelerator User whose Calendar you wish to sync to your BlackBerry (Network Users Only).
Select your current time zone:

This enables you to roam with your BlackBerry outside of the Accelerator Time Zone and sync back to Accelerator with correct time conversion for appointments.
Select the range of appointment dates you would like to include on your BlackBerry:

Appointments outside this range remain in Accelerator and are not synced to your BlackBerry making syncs faster and more efficient. If you enter an appointment on your BlackBerry outside this range, it is synced up to Accelerator then removed from your BlackBerry.
Select an Appointment Sync delete range:

Other applications and synchronization programs may automatically delete appointments outside of a date range on your BlackBerry. This behavior is similar to the Accelerator Sync 'Appointment Sync Date Range' settings. To resolve this problem, the Accelerator Sync allows you to set the 'Delete Range' to avoid accidental deletions. This gives you the ability to adjust the settings in the problem application, or remove the problem application entirely.

Once you have made the above selections, click the |OK| button to save your BlackBerry sync settings.

From your BlackBerry open your browser.
Now navigate to www.oasync.com .
Click the link to install the oamobile certificate.
Click the link to install Office Accelerator BlackBerry Sync.
Click the Download button.
If you are prompted to reboot, select |Reboot|.
From your BlackBerry, click on the Accelerator icon to launch the sync application. The icon will be located under applications or downloads.
You should now see the following information on your BlackBerry. Press the toggle button on your BlackBerry to view the drop down menu and click the |Logon into Sync| button to login to your Accelerator Account.
Enter your Accelerator account login information, you will need your account name, user name, and password. These are the same credentials used to login to your Accelerator phone book and oamobile.com. Press the toggle button on the BlackBerry and click the |Start Sync| button to start the wireless sync to Office Accelerator.
The first synchronization to your BlackBerry may take a significant amount of time and is dependent upon your BlackBerry signal strength as well as the amount and type of contact data you are syncing i.e. Accelerator contacts can hold up to 17 pages of notes per contact. Please be patient during the first sync, subsequent syncs will take significantly less time.
When the sync is complete, your information can be found on the BlackBerry in the following locations:

Accelerator Contacts are found in the BlackBerry Address Book application.

Accelerator Appointments are found in the BlackBerry Calendar application.

Accelerator Tasks are found in the BlackBerry Applications folder in the Tasks application.
To perform another sync, repeat steps 12 - 14.

Advanced Options

The |Show Advanced Options| button is used to reset the BlackBerry sync., it is not necessary to make changes to any settings in this section on the initial sync. The Advanced Options are typically used to reset the sync when syncing to a new BlackBerry.
