| Saving the Current
Search Result to a Category or Subcategory
|
The Accelerator application provides the
ability to:
- Save a current search result to a new
category or subcategory
- Combine a current search result with an
existing category or subcategory
- Replace a current search result an existing
category or subcategory.
To save a current search result to a category
or subcategory, do the following:
- Open Accelerator.
-
Search the database for some
contacts.
-
Using your mouse, select the individual contacts
you would like to save to a category or subcategory by placing an X
in the box to the left of each contact. You can use the |SHIFT|
key to select more than one contact at a time,
and your
space bar to select contacts.
-
- From the |Category| or |Results| menu click
|Save Current Search Result|, the Categories Dialog Box
appears.
- From the Contacts to Work With section,
select the contact you wish to work with.
- Now select the action you wish to
execute.
- Save to a New Top Level
Category: This option creates a user defined top level
category and saves the current search result to this
category.
- Save to a New Subcategory: This
option creates a new subcategory (a category hierarchically below a
top level category) and save the current search result to this
subcategory.
- Add to the Selected Category: This
option saves the current search result to an existing category
(highlighted category). Data in the search result is added to
the data already within the existing category. Using this
option will not create duplicated contacts within
Accelerator or the category.
- Replace the Selected Category: This
option clears the selected category of any contact, and saves the
current search result to the category. The data is not
deleted, only cleared from the category.
You can use the tool bar button to save
contacts to a category (shown below)
