Create, Delete, or Modify Categories Properties

A category is used to store groups of contacts into logical subdivisions which provide faster and simpler data retrieval.  Examples of categories are shown in the list below.   To Create, Edit, Modify, or Delete categories, do the following:

  1. From the phone book menu select |Categories|Modify Categories|, the categories screen will appear.  To create a new category or subcategory, edit a category or subcategory, delete an existing category or subcategory, or modify a category or subcategory select the appropriate option from the categories dialogue box (shown below).


You can also add a contact to an existing category or subcategory from the category menu within the |Edit Contact| screen.   To do this, do the following:
 
  1. Search for and right click on a contact in the current search result. Click the |Edit Contact| option from the menu and the |Edit Contact| screen will appear.


 

  1. Select the |Categories| tab from the |Edit Contact| screen and click the |Modify| button, the contact categories screen will appear:
     
  1. Place a check in the category(s) you would like to associate this contact with.  Click |Done| to save your settings.
