Multiple Letters (AMS)

The |Multiple Letters| option is used to automatically merge multiple contact data from Accelerator into a letter format of your choice.  To use this feature, do the following:

  1. Open your Word processor and select the Accelerator menu.  From the menu, choose |Multiple Letters| (Shown Below), the Accelerator application will open.
  1. Search for a group of contacts that you would like to create a letter for, and click the |Continue Letters| button (shown below).
  1. The Multiple Letters screen is used to create the letters for merging to your word processor.  There are 8 sections that you may use to customize your Multiple Letters template.  Below each section is described.
  1. Letter Format: Accelerator ships with predefined letter formats (templates).  In this example, we will use the |Full Block| letter format.  The following is a list of the available formats, to create your own template, see Create or Edit a Letter Template (AMS).
  1. Letterhead Options: If you are using pre-printed letterhead paper, use this option to specify the number of lines to skip before merging data to your Letters so as not to print over the company logo etc.
  1. Print Your Return Address: Use this option to specify your return address options in your Letters.
  1. Headings: Use this option to format the headings section of your Letters.
  1. Closings:  Use this section to format the closing section of your Letters.
  1. Postscripts: Use this section to include postscript information.
  1. Printing Format Option: Use this section to specify postal formats.  Barcodes can be used to receive discount rates on bulk mail.  Check with your local post office for specific details on bulk mail barcode discount rates.
  1. Document Tracking: The document tracking option is used to track Letters as you create them for contacts.  The log is saved in the Log tab in the Edit Contact Screen of the contacts you are creating the Multiple Letters for, and can be viewed within the personal dashboard section (shown below). 


Print Options

Once you have made your selections, click the |Continue| button, the following screen will appear:  You may select the following merge destination for your Multiple Letters:


Printing to Default Printer

To print your Multiple Letters to the default printer, select the |Print to Default Printer| option and click the |Continue| button.  The Letters will be sent to your printer. (To change your default printer settings, select the |Change Printer Selection| button and choose an alternate printer.

Display in Word Processor

The Display in Word Processor option will merge the data to your word Processor in the form of multiple documents. The data can be viewed, manipulated, saved, and printed.  The following is an example of Multiple Letters using the |Display in Word Processor| option in |Full Block| Format.

 

Send to Email

Selecting the |Send to Email| option will send the Multiple Letters to your default email client.  To use this feature you must have Microsoft Outlook 2000 or above properly configured on your system.
 


Microsoft has implemented security protocols in Outlook 2000 and above in an effort to prevent virus infiltration into Microsoft Outlook.  These security protocols cannot be disabled in the client version of Microsoft Outlook. There are currently third party utilities available that will suppress these security messages when the application is a known or trusted source, such as when merging data to your word processor with Office Accelerator.  A list of some of these utilities are provided below.
