Avira Antivirus False Positive CIT Exception Configuration

If you are using Avira antivirus software, you may receive a message indicating that the Office Accelerator file "cst.exe" contains a virus. 

Specifically:
Virus or unwanted program 'TR/Dropper.Gen [trojan]'
detected in file 'C:\bds\client14\files\cs\CST.EXE.
Action performed: Deny access

The above message is a false positive detection on behalf of Avira antivirus.  To fix this problem, you will need to create an exception for the cst.exe file within your Avira software as follows:

  1. Right click on the Avira icon in windows system tray and select |Configure AntVir|.



  2. From the Avira configuration screen, place a check in the |Expert Mode| box. 




  3. Navigate to the |Exceptions| page by clicking the + next to |Guard|Scan|.  In the |Files Objects to be Omitted by the Guard| section enter cst.exe and click the |Add| button. Click |OK| to save your settings. 


  4. Reinstall Office Accelerator from www.oaclient.com .
